Early bird registration starts on January 1, 2024 and ends on April 1, 2024.
Individuals who receive notification that their paper proposals have been accepted must register online before the conference. Registration deadline for those presenting a paper is June 1, 2024.
Conference participants without a paper must also register online before the conference. Registration deadline for non-presenting participants is 21st June, 2024. If non-presenting participants wish to register online, please contact

The table below provides all information on registration fees. Participant registration fees include:
- Admission to all conference sessions (Plenary sessions, WGs, thematic panels, CTSs)
- Conference material (delegate bags, certificates, printed conference programme)

- Entry to the Welcome Reception (at the Garden of the Faculty of Education)

We are offering the special CESE members’ registration fee of 230 (early bird) or 280 (regular rate) to those who will choose to take out CESE membership for the period 2024 to 2026. During online registration you will be given this option. Please check the Society's website for more membership info (www.cese-europe.org/membership). Please note that free subscription for two years to CESE's affiliated, Taylor and Francis's journal of European Education is included in the membership fee.

*** Low GDP country participants
In order to further enhance our conference’s intellectual richness, diversity and accessibility, we are offering a discounted registration fee for colleagues who are based in low GDP countries. This fee applies to conference participants who are residents of a low GDP country, will be traveling to Greece from a low GDP country, and will choose to take out CESE membership for the period 2024-2026. Please consult the attached list in order to see whether you are eligible for the fee.

Speakers
Sotiria Grek
Professor
Sotiria Grek is Professor of European and Global Education Governance at the School of Social and Political Science, University of Edinburgh. Sotiria’s work focuses on the field of quantification in global public policy, with a specialisation in the policy arenas of education and sustainable development. She is the Principal Investigator of the European Research Council funded project “International Organisations and the Rise of a Global Metrological Field” (METRO). She has co-authored (with Martin Lawn) Europeanising Education: Governing A New Policy Space (Symposium, 2012) and co-edited (with Joakim Lindgren) Governing by Inspection (Routledge, 2015), as well as the World Yearbook in Education: Accountability and Datafication in Education (with Christian Maroy and Antoni Verger; Routledge, 2021). Her most recent book (with Justyna Bandola-Gill and Marlee Tichenor) is Governing the Sustainable Development Goals: Quantification in Global Public Policy (Springer, 2022).
Jason Beech
Associate Professor
Jason Beech is Associate Professor in Global Policy in Education at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education and Visiting Professor at Universidad de San Andrés in Buenos Aires where he holds a UNESCO Chair in Education for Sustainability and Global Citizenship. He is associate editor of Education Policy Analysis Archives. He was Dean of the School of Education at Universidad de San Andres (2008-2014) and Member of the Board or Directors of the Comparative and International Education Society in the US (2014-2016). His research focuses on the globalization of knowledge and policies related to education. He has also written and is passionate about the challenges of educating for global citizenship and a sustainable future. He has taught in several universities in the Americas, Europe and Australia.
Miri Yemini
Professor
Prof. Miri Yemini, a Professor of Education at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, is deeply immersed in the scholarly exploration of global educational dynamics. Currently, she leads a groundbreaking research endeavor, funded by the European Research Council Consolidator Grant, which delves into the multifaceted landscape of youth activism. This research aims to elucidate the nuanced ways in which young individuals engage in activism across diverse spheres, including but not limited to the pressing issues of climate crisis and human rights advocacy. Drawing upon a rich tapestry of theoretical frameworks and methodological approaches, Prof. Yemini's research seeks to uncover the underlying mechanisms driving youth participation in global campaigns. Her interdisciplinary approach integrates insights from education, sociology, communication studies, and beyond, offering a comprehensive understanding of the complex interplay between individual agency, social context, and systemic factors shaping youth activism.
Antoni Verger
Professor
Antoni Verger is professor of Sociology and ICREA-Academia research fellow at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. His research lies at the intersection of sociology of education, policy analysis and comparative education. It examines the relationship between globalization, governance institutions and education policy - i.e. how education policies are formulated, promoted and enacted in different institutional settings, and how these processes impact education quality and equity. Verger publishes in comparative education, sociology of education and social policy journals, and is lead editor of the Journal of Education Policy and the World Yearbook of Education. He is also the academic director of the Erasmus Plus-awarded Education Policies for Global Development-GLOBED Master degree.
