Dates and deadlines
Early bird registration starts on January 30, 2024 and ends on May 1, 2024.
Individuals who receive notification that their paper proposals have been accepted must register online before the conference. Registration deadline for those presenting a paper is June 1, 2024.
Conference participants without a paper must also register online before the conference. Registration deadline for non-presenting participants is 21st June, 2024. If non-presenting participants wish to register online, please contact
Conference fees
The table below provides all information on registration fees. Participant registration fees include:
- Admission to all conference sessions (Plenary sessions, WGs, thematic panels, CTSs)
- Conference material (delegate bags, certificates, printed conference programme)
- Lunches (3)
- Coffee and snacks during coffee breaks (7)
- Entry to the Welcome Reception (at the Gardens of the Faculty of Education)

We are offering the special CESE members’ registration fee of 230 (early bird) or 280 (regular rate) to those who will choose to take out CESE membership for the period 2024 to 2026. During online registration you will be given this option. Please check the Society's website for more membership info (www.cese-europe.org/membership). Please note that free subscription for two years to CESE's affiliated, Taylor and Francis's journal of European Education is included in the membership fee.
** Students
You must be able to provide proof of student status (university student card, ID card or letter from your institution) at the Registration Desk.
*** Low GDP country participants
In order to further enhance our conference’s intellectual richness, diversity and accessibility, we are offering a discounted registration fee for colleagues who are based in low GDP countries. This fee applies to conference participants who are residents of a low GDP country, will be traveling to Greece from a low GDP country, and will choose to take out CESE membership for the period 2024-2026. Please consult the attached list in order to see whether you are eligible for the fee.
**** Members of G.C.I.E.S. & F.E: You must be able to provide proof of valid membership to the Greek Comparative & International Education Society (ΕΛΕΣΔΕ) and the Faculty of Education (Παιδαγωγική Σχολή) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
***** Membership
Free subscription for two years to CESE's affiliated, Taylor and Francis's Journal of European Education is included in the membership fee.
Gala Dinner
The Conference Gala Dinner will take place at ALLEGRO (https://plaisir.gr/event-venues/allegro/?lang=en), which is located in Thessaloniki’s Concert Hall, on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. The price for attending is not included in the registration fee. For further details about the menu please see the attached file.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations received by June 1, 2024 at the latest: Full refund of fees paid
Cancellations received by June 15, 2024 at the latest: 50% refund of fees paid
Cancellations received after June 15, 2024: No refund can be made
