Working Groups (WGs) are central to CESE conferences and take the form of an extended seminar where scholars engage with each other as peers, discussing, challenging and refining arguments and perspectives. The sessions of WGs often unfold over two (or three) days and often lead to much longer-term dialogues.
The following WGs have been established to explore the broad landscape of 'control' in education. Most individually-submitted papers will be presented in WGs. At the time of submission participants will be asked to indicate the WG they would prefer to present their paper at. The papers will be sent to the WG Chairs who decide whether the paper fits the subtheme of the preferred WG or whether it should be presented in another WG or one of the Thematically-Focused Panels (TFPs). If a paper does not fit any of the WGs (or a TFP), the paper will be considered for one of the Cross-Thematic Sessions (CTSs).
A WG session is 90 or 120 minutes long and, normally, three or four papers are presented in each session with approximately 30 minutes allocated to each paper. (See Paper Presentation Guidelines).
Full papers from the WGs will be considered for publication. All submitted papers will undergo peer-review by the Executive Committee of CESE and the local conference organisers. (See Submission Guidelines and Deadlines).
