The International Airport ‘Macedonia’ (SKG), which has been recently renovated, is located 15 km from Thessaloniki. Visitors can travel from Thessaloniki airport to the city centre using two different means of transport; bus and taxi. The cheapest transportation option is the bus (lines OASTH No 01X and No 01N for night service), at only 1.80€ per person for a one-way ticket. Tickets can be bought at the ticket kiosk at the airport or at vending machines on board the bus. The bus service runs every 30 minutes and the journey from the airport to the city center takes about 40 minutes.

The fastest transport option from the airport to the city centre is getting a taxi. Taxis are available at the arrivals area between T1 and T2 (between exit 3 and 4) and take around 25 minutes to reach the city centre. The cost of the fare is between 20-30€ during daytime. A double fare is applicable between midnight and 05:00 am.
